Maistorovici BACH, Passacaglia for solo violin- Mayumi Kanagawa
"B.A.C.H., Passacaglia for solo violin” was commissioned by George Enescu Festival as compulsory work for the 2024 George Enescu International Violin Competition. “B.A.C.H., passacaglia for solo violin” is an homage to the tradition tracing back to Bach’s Solo Sonatas and Partitas through the heritage of legendary violinists and composers such as Biber, Vivaldi, Tartini, Locatelli, Paganini, Ysaÿe, Kreisler, Enescu, Bartók, Berio, Widmann, as well as to the historical obsession with the BACH motif across works by Schumann, Liszt, Brahms, Rimsky-Korsakov, Schoenberg, Webern, Dallapiccola, Penderecki, Schnittke, Gubaidulina. As such, the BACH motif and the archetypal principle of the passacaglia are projected through a metamodernist prism, in a manner related to some of my previous works such as “Cadence En Espace”, “Concert Transilvan”, “Little Harmonic Tesseract” or “Metamorphose after M.C.Escher”. As a competition piece, beyond the traditional and extended technical and musical challenges, the work showcases the violinist’s “freedom in control” in performance. În anul Centenarului ne inspirăm din compoziția vizionară a lui George Enescu, Preludiu la unison. Așa cum diferitele instrumente ale orchestrei se reunesc într-o singură melodie în această piesă unică, ediția 2018 reunește sunetul, dansul și culoarea în spațiile cele mai incitante din Brașov, cu interpretări de clasă internațională ale tinerelor staruri ale scenei muzicii clasice. După succesul de anul trecut, începem la Tenis Arena, de această dată cu un ”match” între jazz și clasic. Veniți cu noi într-o încântătoare călătorie prin lucrări de referință ale repertoriului pentru coarde cu Gémeaux Quartett la Biserica Neagră, Biserica Romano-Catolică Sf. Petru și Pavel, și în cadrul Promenadei Muzicale, când veți descoperi Brașovul prin prisma muzicii clasice. La Aula Universității Transilvania sărbătorim Centenarul, îmbinând muzica de cameră cu cinematografia, cu Dan Dediu în dublul rol de compozitor și interpret. Ca în fiecare an, artiștii invitați împărtășesc experiența creativității cu tinerii în masterclass-uri, ateliere, discuții și expoziții. Comorile muzicii de cameră interpretate de tinere staruri ale scenei internaționale, artele vizuale, coregrafia și cinematografia, arhitectura și natura Brașovului vibrează la unison în iunie.
